Saskatchewan’s healthcare system is in crisis. And instead of protecting it, both Pierre Poilievre and Scott Moe support more privatization – a move that would only make things worse.
In Saskatchewan:
Healthcare workers haven’t received a raise in over three years. Leading to a retention crisis, short-staffing, burnout, and workers leaving the system.
Over 50 rural communities have faced full or partial ER closures due to chronic staffing shortages.
Wait times for key surgeries, like hip and knee replacements, are among the worst in Canada.
Thousands of people still don’t have access to a family doctor, especially in rural and northern areas.
Under privatization, it will only get worse.
Pierre Poilievre has openly supported provinces pursuing “more private delivery of publicly funded care.” He’s refused to commit to protecting our universal, publicly funded, publicly delivered system.
We know what privatization leads to:
Longer wait times for everyone, as staff get pulled into for-profit clinics
Two-tier systems, where the rich jump to the front of the line
Less accountability, transparency, and fairness
We don’t want private healthcare — not from Pierre, not from Scott.
We need real investment in public healthcare -- better working conditions for healthcare workers, more staff, and a system that’s there when we need it.
Add your name: Tell Scott and Pierre: We don’t want your private healthcare.
